Special thanks again to Joe and Sugars for providing us all the needed fuel to kick this event off. We had 20 folks in attendance and many more that just could not make it... all an all I say we have about 50 people lined up to be involved in the making of these films. Right on!

We tossed out shirts so keep an eye out (please feel free to contact us to purchase yours and support the project. ) Handed out stickers, marketing materials, miniDV tapes, gave a good pep talk and then shot some footage I plan to edit for the screening as a cool little intro.

Each team gave a brief summary of their film and introduced each other (brian wallace on the right - HORROR) and everyone got a chance to hook up with filmmakers and find a way to participate.

Teams will be posting blogs and tweets so check back often.

There will also be a neat little interview by Dusty Decker on www.lagrandelife.com sometime today which will be worth watching and sharing around to promote the project and other cool goings-ons.

Although we need a few more teams to actually commit to the project I have decided to distribute the genres as teams sign up... so if you want a good jump start on scripting and story sign up now!

Not only is Jason Crampton signed up to captain "The Big Productions" team for this year's fest he is alos contributing extra hours into improving the identity of the project. He is responsible for the new banner/web ad that we see at the top and attached to this blog. The graphic was built with the original intention of promoting the project on The Big Critique, a review site managed and developed by Jason Crampton in La Grande.

After I saw the ad I asked him if he could send it to me and we could start using it to spread to the masses... I think he said okay!

So there in mock-up stage right now - and we are still seeking funding to help with this - but we are aiming at having t-shirts available to the teams (main 3 folks) as an extra way to get the project some attention. If people wearing these shirts are running around all over town, in the wee hours of the morn - people will know what they are doing - and be curious enough to participate in the screenings.

Alright - team captains and friends of the project...we are calling you all to be a part of the LGSFP street team. Time to dig in. Cold Coffee Media will be hosting a work party for the La Grande Summer Film Project this Thursday, July 23rd at 9:00 pm. Meet at Cold Coffee Media - 116 Depot Street in La Grande and we will assign some simple tasks to those who want a chance to help. Please stop by if you can!
