Overview
Statement of purpose:
Eastern Oregon Film Festival in conjunction with Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival is proud to present this year's La Grande Summer Film Project. OUR GOAL is to provide local film buffs and film makers an opportunity to have their work seen by the community, as well as give community members a chance to show off their creative skills. Through this festival and gathering of talents, we would like to involve local businesses by featuring them as locations in the final project.
The project will kick off on Friday August 13th, with a Night Life social event at White House Coffee (1702 Fourth Street). Teams will be identified, organized, and specific criteria for their film will be given. After the participants have had a chance to "schmooze", ACTION will be called at 9:00pm - and the filmmakers have 48 hours to deliver their final project.
The premiere of the short films will be after the MAIN ACT MUSIC (about 10:00 pm) at the Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival. The opening is tentatively scheduled to be an outdoor screening downtown La Grande on Depot Street over or around the stage and in reach of the beer garden.
The saturday to follow will have the films available on rotation for festival goers to stop in, have a beer, and preview the project.
FILMMAKING TEAMS -
We are looking for 10 dedicated teams of 3 to be the backbone for this years project. If you are interested in heading up a team you MUST BE dedicated to the 48 hours of filmmaking. A final product will be in your hands! These teams will act as the directing body for each short film. Teams should try to acquire their own equipment as resources will be limited.
TALENT POOL -
Participate in one or many of the short films. If you cannot commit to the 48 hours please plan to participate as an actor, grip, writer, craft services engineer :) or whatever. Get you name on the email list and plan to attend the kick-off event. You will have a chance to meet the filmmaking teams, discuss scheduling, and how you can participate!
SPONSORED LOCATIONS:
There will be selected downtown locations to be official locations for the production. A sign will be given to place in the window of these locations. Location will be listed on the website and a team of filmmakers will contact you for scheduling the shoot at your location. If you are interested in becoming a sponsored location for the film project this year we ask for a Sponsoring Donation of $50.00 for each location. We will be selecting only 10 locations to feature. (Filmmakers are required to have your location featured for at least 1 minute of their final project.)
